Efficacy of Pulsed Ultrasound Therapy in Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction: Current Modalities of Treatment

Erectile dysfunction is a commonly encountered sexual problem in men approaching their middle age. Abbreviated as ED, erectile dysfunction affects around 3 to 76.5% of elderly men worldwide, while in the U.S.A alone, more than 20 million adult males suffer from ED. It not only adversely alters the sexual competence of males but also leads to negative psychological changes in them.

As of present, the only FDA-approved treatment of ED consists of sildenafil (Viagra TM) and other related medications (intrapenile vasodilator injection) which are potentially harmful for men who are likely to experience adverse cardiovascular events.
